About kitty

I’m Kitty, a genealogist based in Brighton, though I originally hail from Oxfordshire. My background is in the heritage & museums industry, having worked for institutions such as the National Trust and Oxford University. It was here that I honed my research skills and developed a deep appreciation for history.

Nearly a decade ago, I discovered genealogy. I was immediately captivated by the detective-like nature of the work—never knowing what surprising connections or stories would emerge with each new search.

I’m currently working towards my Certificate in Genealogy with Pharos Tutors, continually building on my knowledge and expertise in the field. I’m especially drawn to the thrill of solving research challenges, whether that’s breaking down "brick walls," tracking down elusive local records, or piecing together the intricate details of an entire family history.

Alongside my genealogical work, I’m a published writer and run a rare and antiquarian bookselling business with my father, combining my love of history with my entrepreneurial spirit. When I’m not immersed in research or running my businesses, I’m an avid reader and a die-hard P.G. Wodehouse enthusiast!

Whether you’re looking to trace your family tree or break through a tricky research challenge, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every project I take on.
